A Postdoctoral (or senior postdoc) Research Associate position in Structural Biology (Protein X-ray crystallography) is available in the Song laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine, which is one of the top medical schools in the US (http://www.bcm.edu/about/). The successful candidate is expected to have a strong track record of publications in protein crystallography (with >3 first-authored pubs or PDB entries). Abilities to INDEPENDENTLY grow crystals, collect diffraction data and determine/refine protein structures are essential. Biochemistry used for protein cloning, expression and purification is needed. Experience in cocrystallization/soaking with small molecule ligands/inhibitors is a plus. The main duties are to obtain x-ray crystal structures of biologically important protein (particularly epigenetics relevant enzymes) with our novel small molecule inhibitors for drug discovery. This position may be eligible for promotion to a Research Scientist (staff) or Instructor (research faculty) upon successful completion of initial terms. Find research interests at the PI’s website:
