The Opportunity
We are seeking multiple talented and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researchers to work in the laboratories of Professor Scott O’Neill and Dr Beth McGraw. We study the tri-partite interaction between insects, the pathogens they vector and their symbionts with particular applications in control of insect transmitted disease (www.eliminatedengue.org).

We run a vibrant team of research associates, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows housed in all new research facilities. You will be responsible for carrying out your own research, collaborating with other members of the team and mentoring more junior staff.

We are hiring broadly, seeking individuals with skills in virology, immunity, bioinformatics, proteomics or molecular biology. Projects may focus on mosquito:virus or mosquito:malaria interactions.

Required:
1) a PhD in a relevant area (virology, entomology or molecular biology), from a recognised university with subsequent relevant work experience
2) demonstrated ability to undertake outstanding research
3) demonstrated high quality research publication record in recognised journals excellent organisational,
4) problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with arbovirus molecular biology (especially dengue), experience in containment laboratory procedures at BSL-3, general molecular biology skills or general experience with insect rearing and handling (particularly mosquitoes) will be highly regarded.
