德国癌症研究中心招聘实验胚胎学初级博士后
The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 2,300 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.
The Division of Epigenomics and Cancer Risk Factors is seeking a
Junior Postdoctoral Position on Epigenetics – DNA methylation or Chromatin modifications – (Ref-No. 169/2012)
Description:
A Junior Postdoctoral position is available in the division “Epigenomics and Cancer Risk Factors” headed by Prof. Christoph Plass (www.dkfz.de/en/tox/index.php) for a project in Cancer Epigenetics.
Our Division examines the molecular mechanisms driving initiation and progression of carcinogenesis. The focus lies on the contribution of epigenetic aberrations and their interactions with genetic alterations during tumorigenesis. We apply state-of-the-art high throughput epigenomic assays including immunoprecipitation-based enrichment of methylated DNA and of chromatin modifications coupled with next generation sequencing, illumina 450k arrays, and whole genome bisulfite sequencing of clinical samples, cell culture models and mouse tumor models.
Your profile:
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious scientist with a Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related area, no longer than 2 years past graduation. The candidate should have a strong background in genetics or epigenetics demonstrated by peer-reviewed first author publications and a strong interest in DNA methylation or chromatin modifications. Excellent experimental and analytical skills are mandatory. Background knowledge in bioinformatics is a plus.
The DKFZ is a member in the Helmholtz Association of National Research Centers and performs research in the areas of basic and translational cancer biology. We offer an international and dynamic work environment, access to a broad range of continuing education courses and the possibility to contribute to projects at the frontier of cancer research.
Severely disabled persons receive the preference with same qualification. Equal opportunities are a component of our personnel policy.
Please submit your application in one PDF file with a letter of motivation, a one page statement of research interests, CV, list of publications, latest degree certificates, and contact information of 2-3 referees.
The position is limited for 2 years.
For further information please contact
Prof. Dr. Christoph Plass, phone 06221 42-3301.
The German Cancer Research Center is committed to increase the percentage of female scientists and encourages female applicants to apply. Among candidates of equal aptitude and qualifications, a person with disabilities will be given preference.
