Postdoctoral positions are available immediately at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore. The A*STAR Institute is the leader in Singapore for fostering world-class scientific research. Our laboratory is located at the Brenner Centre for Molecular Medicine in the campus of the National University of Singapore. We are focused in the field of cardiovascular disease and utilize state-of the-art technologies in human genetics, genomics, mouse genetics, functional genomics, and lipid and lipoprotein metabolism to identify and characterize the roles of both novel and known genes in HDL metabolism and atherosclerosis. We have recently made some exciting progress in identifying novel genes underlying HDL metabolism and require motivated and talented post-doctoral fellows to move these projects forward. As a postdoctoral fellow, you will have opportunities to collaborate with international as well as Singaporean scientists in lipid metabolism and human genetics.
The candidates should be recent PhD graduates with a strong publication record. We require independent thinkers, highly self-motivated, energetic, and able to communicate well, both written and verbal. Candidates with experience in HDL biology are preferred but not required. The lab is small and sharing of knowledge and insightful discussions are encouraged, as are collaborations with other scientists.
