A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Shiyou Chen in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Chen’s research program examines the regulation of cardiovascular development and molecular mechanism of cardiovascular diseases. Current focus is on smooth muscle differentiation and vascular proliferative diseases. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences with documented experience/expertise in cardiovascular-related research. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in smooth muscle differentiation and/or transcriptional or posttranscriptional regulation. Additional experience with animal models such as artery injury or myocardial ischemia is also highly desirable.
