Job Description
| At the Department of Molecular Biology, a great opportunity for a postdoctoral candidate who seeks to participate in the formation of a new research group where a high degree of research independence and a very strong research environment, is offered! We are now seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a PhD and a strong background in biochemistry or molecular/cell biology for development and study of cellular model systems concerning drug resistance in bacterial and mammalian cell systems. The project is also aimed at developing screening methods and strategies for evaluation and validation on the gene/protein level of metabolic alterations discovered in metabolomics experiments. As the research project as well as the research group is in a start-up phase, a high degree of research independence and opportunity to shape the project will be offered. Requirements To qualify for the position you should have a PhD degree (preferably not older than 3 years) in a field related to Biochemistry/Molecular/Cell Biology. The applicant should be excellent in written/spoken English. The candidate should be skilled in standard molecular biology techniques like: Gene cloning, Deletion mutants, Gene silencing assays, Western blotting, RNA and protein extraction, purification, and quantitation, PCR and RT-PCR assays, Flow cytometry and Cell viability assays. The candidate should also be skilled in the cultivation of mammalian cell systems and it is meriting with experience of yeast and/or bacterial cell systems as well. The successful candidate should have a genuine interest in hypothesis generation and strong drive towards solving specific biological questions through testing of generated hypothesis.
