Postdoctoral Research Associate
Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair
£27,428-£35,788 pa
The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2013 in the first instance.

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to work as part of a multi-centre consortium developing stem cell based therapies to protect axons in CNS disease. The project is funded by the UK Multiple Sclerosis Society, initially for 2 years with the possibility of a renewal for a further 3 years.

Available now, the role holder will work under the direction of Prof Maria Grazia Spillantini on a project aimed at understanding the role that dysfunction and aggregation of the microtubule-associated protein tau plays in axonal degeneration following primary demyelination, as that present in progressive MS, and how this can be affected by myelin regeneration.

Applicants must have a PhD degree. The preferred candidate will have experience in tau or models of MS or immunology, Biochemical, molecular biological and histological techniques will be employed in the project. Useful ref:
