POST DOCTORAL POSITION AT KAROLINSKA INSTITUTET, STOCKHOLM
Our newly established group is studying endogenous neural stem cells as a source for functional repair upon diseases and injuries of the nervous system. Specifically, we are interested in the origin and functional potential of spinal cord stem cells and mechanisms that regulate both proliferation and differentiation of stem cells. The laboratory is situated at the Department of Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institutet which offers a very collaborative and dynamic environment with cutting edge equipment and techniques (see website http://ki.se/ki/jsp/polopoly.jsp?l=en&d=13675 ). Barnabé-Heider group is also part of the Linnaeus Center in Develomental Biology for Regenerative Medicine (DBRM: http://www.dbrm.se/) which is a very interactive platform.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with a strong record PhD in the field of neurosciences or neurobiology. The project includes in vivo work with animal models, primary cell cultures, immunochemical, molecular and biochemical techniques. Person with experience in animal work and surgery, and basic techniques in molecular biology and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Critical thinking, creativity and excellent communication skill in English are required.
