| Grant Funded Position This is a grant funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding. Appointments are year-to-year, with subsequent renewal, based upon performance, the needs of the department, and availability of funding. Job Description The Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Princeton, seek a post-doctoral researcher at the intersection of epidemiology, ecology and mathematical economics. The successful applicant will work with Charles Perrings and Ann Kinzig (ASU), and Simon Levin (Princeton), on a four-year NIH-funded project on the relationship between globalization and the spread of infectious diseases of both humans and animals. Hiring Range $45,000 - $50,000 annually Minimum Qualifications Candidates should have a Ph.D. in an appropriate field with experience spanning at least two of the disciplines listed. Department Info The Ecoservices Group at Arizona State University studies the causes and consequences of change in ecosystem services – the benefits that people derive from the biophysical environment. The Ecoservices group operates a number of international research projects on issues relating to biodiversity change, conservation and development described at http://ecoservices.asu.edu/. The group additionally supports training in biodiversity and ecosystem services including the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Training Network (BESTNet), a Research Coordination Network funded by the National Science Foundation. Ecoservices group projects are administered by the Global Institute of Sustainability (GIOS). GIOS conducts research, education, and problem-solving related to sustainability, with a special focus on urban environments. The Institute initiates and nurtures work on issues of sustainability across many departments on the four campuses of ASU, and collaborates with other academic institutions, governments, businesses and industries, and community groups locally, nationally, and globally.
