Postoctoral position at QCRI
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Bensmail’s Research Group in the Scientific Computing Center of the Qatar Computing Research Institute, Qatar Foundation, Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will perform research in the area of bioinformatics and computational genomics, focusing on diabetes and cancer genomics through the analysis of patterns in genomic and proteomics data sets.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in bioinformatics, biology, computer science, statistics or a related field – with background and strong interest in statistics, biostatistics or computational biology – is required. Programming and scripting expertise, evidence of successful team-work abilities, experience working with high dimensional data sets (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) is desirable.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a variety of ongoing collaborative research projects with teams across Qatar Foundation research centers including Qatar Biomedical Research Institute and Qatar Computing Research Institute as well as establish his/her own independent projects, and will be provided with training opportunities of student supervision.

The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years contingent upon performance and funding.
