Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR) in Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in biosignal processing and bioinstrumentation. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering that is actively applying innovative signal processing, machine learning and instrumentation techniques to physiological signals to correlate with physiological functions, enable diagnosis/prognosis of pathological conditions (e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, neuromuscular disease) and develop inexpensive medical devices.

The candidate must have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering or Bioengineering, and have graduated from an Electrical/ Computer Engineering or equivalent track. Dissertation must be based on analyses of intrinsic physiological signal (Electrocardiogram, Blood Pressure, Respiration, Pulse oximetry, Electromyogram, Electroencephalogram etc) or extrinsic physiological signal (kinetic and kinematics during human movement), with associated noise minimization, pattern recognition, prediction, classification algorithm development or embedded system in bioinstrumentation. The ideal candidate should have Matlab programming experience and knowledge of electronic system design.

Responsibilities include:
1) Mentoring and contributing to undergraduate capstone projects,
2) Developing a laboratory-based research program supporting Master and Ph.D. students, and
3) Promoting the growth and visibility of the Biomedical Engineering program through high-impact journal publications and presentations.

The initial appointment is for one year and is renewable. A review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
