英国伦敦大学学院细胞信号传导方向助理研究员
Research Associate: Cell signaling and Synaptic plasticity
University College London - Division of Biosciences, Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology
Full Time
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £31,905 - £38,594 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scientist to work with Prof. Patricia Salinas and Dr Alasdair Gibb on a project aimed at unravelling the function of Wnt signalling in synaptic plasticity. Wnt proteins play a crucial role in the formation of neuronal connections but little is known about their role in synaptic transmission. The project is focused on the role of Wnt signalling in synaptic transmission and plasticity in the hippocampus. The applicant will use a range of electrophysiological and cellular approaches and will have access to state-of-the-art imaging facilities.
The post is funded by the MRC for 2 years in the first instance.
Key Requirements
You will hold a PhD, MD, MB or equivalent in a relevant subject area and you will be interested in understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that mediate the synaptic transmission, and ideally have research expertise in cellular electrophysiology. Experience in cell imagining techniques would also be advantageous.
