| Excellent opportunity to start your professional research career Work in a leading scientific environment with dedicated professionals In Australia's premier science & technology research organisation The Position We are seeking to employ a Post Doctoral Fellow within the CSIRO Energy Transformed Flagship program. The position will be based at CSIRO Energy Technology Clayton Laboratory, Victoria. You will conduct research in developing novel materials (e.g. electrodes, electrolytes) for use in lithium batteries. You will be mentored by senior scientists as part of CSIRO’s Postdoctoral Fellows Program which aims to train early career scientists for a research role. Specifically you will: • Develop novel materials (e.g. electrodes, electrolytes) for use in lithium batteries or supercapacitors; assemble and test energy storage devices; evaluate the performance of the materials and energy storage devices. • Work both independently and within a collaborative project framework to achieve project and group targets. • Communicate research outcomes in both oral and written form including presentations to a variety of audiences, reports and scientific publications. • Ensure delivery of projects to agreed research objectives and work programs, on time, within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction. Location: Clayton Victoria, Australia Salary: AUD$75K - $82K per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation Ref No: VIC01131 Tenure: 3 year term To be successful you will have : • A PhD in electrochemistry, materials science or related areas. • Demonstrated research experience with the testing and preparation of electroactive materials and a strong working knowledge of electrochemistry and materials science. • Demonstrated experience in constructing, assembling and testing batteries or supercapacitors • Demonstrated experimental skills using electrochemical equipment (such as AC impedance, CV etc) as well as expertise with chemical/physical material characterisation instrumentation.
