The Singapore Bioimaging Consortium (SBIC) is a member of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). The Consortium aims to harness existing imaging expertise and capabilities in Singapore and develop them into a focused national platform to support the growth of multi-disciplinary research activities and speed the development of biomedical research discoveries.

We are seeking Postdoctoral Synthetic Radiochemists and Chemists to join our PET Chemistry Group headed by Dr Edward Robins. The Research Fellows will be responsible for the development of new radiosynthesis methodologies as well as the synthesis and development of novel radiolabelled probes for preclinical PET and SPECT imaging to support collaborative research programmes with academic and industrial partners.

POSTDOCTORAL SYNTHETIC RADIOCHEMISTS AND CHEMISTS

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory members in designing / carrying out experiments to support SBIC’s translational research programme and delivery of radiotracers for pre-clinical biological assessment;
• Conduct own research project(s) independently, with supervision from Principal Investigator / Senior Research Fellow in the laboratory; and
• Train new students (graduate and undergraduate) on how to conduct basic synthetic chemistry and radiochemistry related experiments.

Requirements

• PhD in Radiochemistry, Chemistry or related discipline;
• Possess knowledge and experience of the design and execution of radiolabelling strategies for novel and established radiolabelled probes including knowledge of reaction optimisation, purification, and the development of appropriate quality control procedures (e.g. radio-HPLC, etc);
• Experience in radiochemistry automation and synthesis platforms with particular relevance to PET is highly desirable; and
• Possess a basic background biological understanding of radiotracer / drug development.
