One post-doctoral position in Computational Chemistry applied to Biomolecular systems and functionalized nanoparticles of pharmaceutical relevance is available in the Molecular Modeling and Drug Discovery Research Line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia.
The open position is for candidates with extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: MD simulations, QM and QM/MM calculations to study biological systems. Possible targets include membrane-bound proteins, ion channels and transporters, DNA and RNA processing enzymes, and other metalloproteins of pharmaceutical interest. There is also the opportunity to work on the computational design and characterization of functionalized nanoparticles, in collaboration with outstanding experimental labs. Experience in method development, programming and scripting abilities are highly desirable.
The candidate must possess a sense of scientific curiosity and be capable of mastering new computational methods, as required. He/she will work in close contact with medicinal chemists and experimentalists in a cutting-edge research environment with state-of-the-art instrumentations and labs. He/she will play a key role in generating new inhibitors with therapeutic implications and potential for high-impact publications.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in chemistry or related disciplines, being an outstanding and highly-motivated scientist with a strong record of research productivity.
