Columbia University's Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology,The Reilly Lab in the Cardiometabolic Precision Medicine Program (https://www.columbiacardiology.org/research/research-centers-and-programs/cardio-metabolic-precision-medicine-program) at Columbia University, in the city of New York seeks post-doctoral research scientists to work on molecular biology and functional genomics in pursuit of the genetic and molecular basis of human cardiometabolic diseases. The positions will involve work in transcriptomics, RNA biology and functional genomics (e.g., RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq, lncRNAs, ChIP-seq, GWAS, exome/DNA-seq, etc.) and related functional model systems (e.g. human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), CRISPR/Cas gene editing, and humanized mouse models. Post-doctoral research scientists will focus on genomics of monocytes and myeloid cells in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases or in adipose tissue biology and systemic metabolic homeostasis as part of NIH-sponsored projects. The post-doctoral period is for a minimum of two years and candidates will be mentored towards independent academic careers.
