- Influence the future of water resource management in Australia
- Develop a research-intensive career and become research leader of the future
- Join a world-class interdisciplinary team in water resources research
The Position:
CSIRO's Groundwater Hydrology Program requires a Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong interest in scientific research, quantitative analysis of vadose zone hydrological processes and environmental tracers, and reactive transport modelling to be part of a team delivering critical scientific research to support decision making for government and the water industry.
Specifically you will:
- Conduct research under the guidance of senior scientists to advance scientific understanding of deep vadose zone systems under arid and semiarid climate.
- Develop innovative techniques for conceptualizing and quantifying vadose zone processes across a range of scales using multiple reactive and nonreactive environmental tracers combined with reactive transport modeling.
- Carry out interdisciplinary analysis to better constrain palaeohydrological records for deep vadose zones, and to advance knowledge of key hydrological processes governing groundwater recharge under different ecohydrological conditions.
Location: Adelaide, South Australia
Salary: $75K - $82K plus up to 15.4% superannuation.
Tenure: 3 year term
Reference: SA00839
To be successful you will need:
- A PhD in science or engineering relevant to vadose zone hydrology, environmental tracers or reactive transport modeling, confirmed within the last 3 years or near completion.
- Demonstrated strong skills in either field based or numerical computation for vadose zone hydrological applications or reactive transport modeling.
- A significant contribution to a particular research field through PhD or previous research and a good publication track record.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including an ability to publish results of scientific research, write reports and proposals, present scientific research to audiences with scientific and non-scientific background.
About CSIRO:
