Dr. Yao-Ying Ma's group at SUNY-Binghamton is recruiting two postdoctoral fellows to join the lab funded by NIH and Brain & NARSAD Award. The group is investigating neuronal and circuit plasticity underlying drug addiction, alcohol dependence and Huntington's disease, especially glutamatergic synaptic plasticity in reward-related brain system.
Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience/Neurobiology/Psychology/Biophysics or other related fields are encouraged to apply for the positions. Experience in in vivo or in vitro electrophysiology, rodents’ surgeries, or behavioral manipulations is preferred, but not required. The selected applicant will be trained, if needed, with the techniques of intravenous drug self-administration in rodent models, electrophysiological recordings, and ex/in vivo optogenetics, etc. Salary will follow NIH standards.
